It actually felt like a party - The clothes, shoes, bags, bracelets and belts were strewn about the four-room suite, sometimes in drawers, sometimes on the models (who posed with Milk Duds, Whoppers and whatever else), sometimes hanging off lampshades, pretty much everywhere. ... I'm in the best mood ever:) While I was in Paris I ran into a girl I know who was wearing this fab cuff bracelet she got from Hayden-Harnett. Almost immediately when I got back stateside I looked into the line and it turns out it's designed by Toni Hacker who's the founder and creative director. I was lucky enough not only to stop by her boutique (where I picked-up these MUST-HAVES -- I'm completely obsessed with both..been wearing them everyday:-) ), but I was also able to chat with Toni herself about how she got her label started, some of her inspiration, and her expansion into both footwear and swimwear:)

After seven days of non-stop runways shows and presentations, I was delighted to stop in at the Chelsea Hotel, Room 219, where the Hayden Harnett presentation was being held. ... Designer Toni Hacker and her business partner Ben Harnett brought in tons of furniture (think armoires, fainting chairs, mirrors…), and accessories (Ouija board, old records, books, candles…), to bring their presentation to life. ... The presentation, in fact, came from designer Toni Hacker reading about the Cargo Cult in an encyclopedia. ... From there, Hacker dreamed-up her own cult of girls who live in an apartment together and don’t ever leave it other than when they go get food at the corner bodega – hence the junk food, long Rapunzel-like hair on the models, and abundance of tchotchkes.

dreaming in floralI am entirely obsessed with floral prints right now. Seems like the perfect way to perk up a winter wardrobe and spring forward. a floral shirt with a matte peach lip and silvery smoked eyes feels modern and romantic at once. especially, i'm loving a floral shirt beneath a simple black dress so the print peeks out and is nearly covered. kinda 90's. kinda feels right.
