I headed over to Hayden-Harnett today to check out their end of summer sale and found some stunning (not on sale!) fall items. I cannot even begin to contemplate affording them, but that is probably for the best, as slightly affordable prices would result in a spree of bank account destroying proportions.

One of our favorite handbag and shoe line's Hayden-Harnett, had a fun and festive presentation last week, debuting not just their accessories but their new collection of womenswear. ... Tucked in a suite at the Chelsea Hotel, models lounged about nibbling doughnuts and candy, while visitors were encouraged to discover all the sumptuous handbags, clutches, open-toed oxford pumps, and other delights stashed here and there in the hotel room.

It actually felt like a party - The clothes, shoes, bags, bracelets and belts were strewn about the four-room suite, sometimes in drawers, sometimes on the models (who posed with Milk Duds, Whoppers and whatever else), sometimes hanging off lampshades, pretty much everywhere. ... Toni wanted the presentation to give you the impression that the models were just a bunch of girls that live in the room, and never leave (hence the Rapunzel braids) except to sometimes go out and buy candy. ... And it worked - by the end, you pretty much only wanted to deck yourself out in a leather necklace and kimono-style dress, eat Twizzlers and never leave. ...

But it was really the ruffled and sometimes printed swimwear we wanted to walk away with. The cuts were flattering and the colors were easy to wear without being too girly.
HAYDEN HARNETT F/W 09 PRESENTATION
After seven days of non-stop runways shows and presentations, I was delighted to stop in at the Chelsea Hotel, Room 219, where the Hayden Harnett presentation was being held. ... Designer Toni Hacker and her business partner Ben Harnett brought in tons of furniture (think armoires, fainting chairs, mirrors…), and accessories (Ouija board, old records, books, candles…), to bring their presentation to life. ... The presentation, in fact, came from designer Toni Hacker reading about the Cargo Cult in an encyclopedia. ... From there, Hacker dreamed-up her own cult of girls who live in an apartment together and don’t ever leave it other than when they go get food at the corner bodega – hence the junk food, long Rapunzel-like hair on the models, and abundance of tchotchkes.

Some changes are cosmetic, others involve the interface, and some you will never see, except that they will help the site to load and display faster.

More Images Now we can post even more images for each style on the item page. Under the main image, the views now scroll to encompass as many different images as we can upload. You can see it in action on our page for the Kristy Trench in Black.
Customer Comments We added the icon to emphasize the customer discussions. Since we launched the customer comments section we've received over a thousand thoughtful and helpful comments, and we're proud that this is working so well, and want to encourage more comments on our item pages.
