Elaine Irwin-Mellencamp and the Green is Good Tote

We were recently sent this great photo of Elaine Irwin-Mellencamp and the Hayden-Harnett Green is Good Tote she picked up at the recent Farm-Aid concert. Hayden-Harnett's organic cotton eco-tote is the perfect shopping tote, it has a great message, and 100% of Hayden-Harnett's profits from the tote go to benefit Farm-Aid in its efforts to promote sustainable and local farming.

Press has been all over this handy tote like butter on toast, but I thought I might contribute my 2 cents (actually, all proceeds to FarmAid, to be quite accurate) on this bag as a real live actual user.

I use this super sturdy tote for anything and everything, from carrying my yoga clothes and lunch to and from the office to saving a plastic bag and toting my groceries to packing a picnic and a book to the park. And in a pinch, it works really well as a barrier between my pants and the wet grass or a nice little pillow for naps in the great outdoors.

To top it all off, I feel good knowing that I'm spreading a positive message all over NYC and that I have contributed to a great cause.

So there you have it. My tote/my self. Don't tell my mother.

Congratulations to Al Gore

We at Hayden-Harnett have always had a soft spot for Al Gore and share his passion for protecting our environment. We were inspired at the beginning of this year to release our Friends of Al tote bag to do something for the cause. Since its launch, Friends of Al across the globe have helped us to plant 4,870 trees, and to donate $12,175.00 to educate about, and to alleviate the problem of global warming.

Today, Al Gore and a United Nations environmental panel were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
